Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse forced a number of rappers into the studio after hearing it, but not Big Sean. The G.O.O.D. Music MC laid his vocals onto the fiery track first, and while many fans speculated that Sean switched his bars to match Kendrick’s fire, he says he did no such thing.”I started the song, I laid my verse first. I sent it to Kendrick and Jay Elec too. And then Kendrick sent that verse back… So when I heard it I was kind of like cracking up,” Sean told Vibe.com on Tuesday night. “When I heard that verse I was like, ‘Man I’m not about to go back and change my verse — that’s cheating.”K-Dot stole the show on the track, which also features Jay Electronica. On his verse, Lamar sent a
warning shot to Big Sean, Drake, J.Cole, Pusha T, A$AP Rocky and a number of other notable rappers whom he says he considers friends. “I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n—-s/ Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n—-s,” he raps figuratively on the track.
Eminem has debuted a new song called “Survival” as part of the trailer for the
Call of Duty: Ghosts video game.
The track will be on the rapper’s upcoming album, due for release this fall.
In a taped message, Eminem said, “The song’s about fighting back, and it seems like it fits Ghosts perfectly.”
Miley Cyrus has taken yet another set of
provocative pictures , this time for edgy photographer Terry Richardson .
The “We Can’t Stop” singer and the photo both tweeted out some shots from the session at Richardson’s studio, and highlights include Cyrus grabbing her crotch, giving the finger, and doing a handstand.
“See me & @Terry_World f*ck sh*t up,” tweeted Cyrus.
Has Harry Styles one- upped Niall Horan ’s James Corden butt tattoo ?
As i previously reported, a cheeky
Horan got a temporary tattoo of the actor-comedian’s face on his bottom during a taping of Corden’s Sky TV show, “A League of Their Own.”
But a new promotional still for One
Direction ’s appearance shows Styles getting rather intimate with Corden, too — by locking lips.
The episode is slated to air in the UK later this month.
When Lady Gaga went dark to recuperate from hip surgery, she went all the way away. But with the countdown clock to the November 11 release of ARTPOP ticking, Gaga has exploded from hiding with the kind of Gagalanche of creativity that we expect from Mother Monster. It’s only Wednesday, and the week already seems like ground zero for the ARTPOP – apalooza we can expect over the next few months. In addition to quashing a budding media-spawned fake feud with Katy Perry, Gaga grabbed headlines (and eyeballs) with a stunning series of images form the upcoming issue of V magazine. Along with an interview by collaborator performance artist Marina Abramović in the issue , the cover of the magazine contains a striking topless image of Gaga in black rocker wig and sparkly cropped jacket, with one hand cupping her left breast.
Inside there’s a fully topless photo with Gaga wearing only a white tank top around her midsection and another with a sideboob view.Earlier in the week, she
tweeted about the shoot for the “Applause” lyric video, which went down at famed Hollywood gay nightclub
Micky’s. According to E! Online , after alerting her fans to the shoot, the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performer got to the club around 11:15 p.m. and stayed for nearly an hour.
Another day, another pair of big names to add to the ever-growing list of performers for the 2013 MTV Video
Music Awards . Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke have just announced they’ll take the stage at the show, joining previously announced performers Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kanye West on August 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn!
One Direction, who made quite the impact at last year’s show — performing their single “One Thing” and
snagging three Moonmen , including Best New Artist and Best Pop Video for “What Makes You Beautiful” — have
also been confirmed to make an appearance at the 2013 VMAs.
First, the a-POP-calypse was advancing. Then, it was averted . But now that Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have dropped singles on the same day — within 13 hours of each other — it’s probably time to go all “Doomsday
Preppers” once again … because surely, the end is near. Yet, 24 hours after the battle between “Roar” and “Applause” officially began, there have been no
casualties, and fans are crawling out of their bunkers to discover that the pop landscape remains intact. It’s almost as if the supposed war between Katy and Gaga was nothing more than — gasp! — a storyline created solely by the media, and, more importantly, that no matter how deep our desire to declare a winner in this conflict, there probably won’t be one.
Actress Jennifer Lawrence graces the cover of the September 2013 issue of Vogue magazine. The cover shoot was shot by Mario Testino. You can find the photos here . In the interview, Jennifer discusses the Hunger Games films, the price of fame and her childhood.
On Hunger Games: “When Winter’s Bone was getting nominated, I had only done indies, and suddenly I was introduced to this brand-new world where I didn’t feel like myself. I was in these weird gowns and listening to people talk about things I didn’t understand. And I remember reading that in the book and being like, Oh, my God, I know exactly what this feels like. I don’t know what it’s like to get ready for your death, but I do know what it’s like to be almost a puppet. And then when I was making the second film, I had become more acquainted with that world, and I think that’s something that Katniss experiences. She is different when she comes back. She does feel more comfortable in the Capitol; she understands the people more, and it’s not as eerie and scary and unfamiliar. She kind of knows how to work the system”
On the Price of Fame : “If I were just your average 23-year-old girl, and I called the police to say that there
were strange men sleeping on my lawn and following me to Starbucks, they would leap into action. But because I am a famous person, well, sorry, ma’am, there’s nothing we can do. It makes no sense.”
On Her Childhood: “I was a weirdo. I wasn’t picked on or anything. And I wasn’t smarter than the other kids;
that’s not why I didn’t fit in. I’ve always just had this weird anxiety. I hated recess. I didn’t like field trips. Parties really stressed me out. And, I had a very different sense of humor.”
Jennifer Garner graces the cover of the September 2013 issue of Allure magazine. In the interview, Jennifer
talked about action roles, staying fit and her husband, Ben Affleck.
On Action Roles : “There were times I had to watch every calorie that went into my body. Doing something like that again…it’s not exactly on the top of my list.”
On Not Attending Every Event With Her Husband, Ben Affleck : “Sometimes it’s a pain because my heels are so high and it would be really nice to have his arm. And he’s such a great date! But it can be too much. I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become ‘wife of'”
On Staying Fit, she says: “I’ve been working out with Valerie Waters for 13 or 14 years. I’ll do different things. I did Spin for a little while, and I like yoga. I’ve been doing Pilates with this woman who was trying to get my abs back in shape after the last baby kind of did me in.”
