Katy Perry’s “Roar” single and Lady Gaga’s “Applause” singles are going head-to-head this week. Billboard reports that Katy’s new single is on track to outsell Gaga’s new song by a margin of more than two to one. Katy Perry’s “Roar”
is on target to sell 525,000 to 550,000 downloads and “Applause” is on track to sell about 200,000 to 225,000.
These are big numbers for both artists, but Lady Gaga’s sales are smaller than some of her other singles. For example, she sold more than 500,000 downloads in a week with her “Born This Way” single. It is also possible “Applause” downloads could get a bump from her appearance on Good Morning America yesterday. Billboard says the official sales figures for both songs will be announced tomorrow by Nielsen SoundScan.
Demi Lovato is reportedly set to join “Glee” for a guest starring arc in Season 5.
The actress-singer would portray Dani, a friend to Lea Michele’s Rachel character in New York; she’d also have significant interaction with the incoming character played by Adam Lambert.
Lovato is “nearing a deal” for the gig, according to TV Line.
The site reports that she would appear in at least six
episodes. Of course, Lovato is already a big part of “The X Factor,” also on FOX.

The pop star said that after she was sidelined by her injury in 2012, “I felt dead. When I’m not onstage I don’t feel alive.”
“I couldn’t give every fan in the United States
what they deserved, which was to see that show and continue the message,” she added.
Gaga also talked about her future in the industry, sharing, “I intend to be in music for the next 30 years, so I have to pace myself.”
