Miley Cyrus is breaking her silence on her controversial MTV Video MusicAwards performance.
In the teaser for an interview that was conducted following Cyrus’ headline-making collaboration with Robin Thicke , the “We Can’t Stop” singer says she set out to “make history” — and did.
“I don’t pay attention to the negative, because I’ve seen this play out so many times… How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?” asks Cyrus.
She explains, “ Madonna ’s done it. Britney ’s done it. Every VMA performance, anyone that performs, that’s what you’re looking for, you’re wanting to make history.”
“Me and Robin the whole time said, ‘You know we’re about to make history right now,’” continues Cyrus.
And she thinks everyone else is just making too much of things.
Cyrus says, ”What’s amazing is I think now, we’re three days later and people are still talking about it. They’re over thinking it. You’re thinking about it more than I was thinking about it when I did it.”
LeBron James has conquered basketball — now he’ll try to win in the TV game, too.
The NBA superstar is developing a half-hour sitcom called “Survivor’s Remorse” with Starz.
James will executive produce the new series along with actor Mike O’Malley , “Roseanne” and “Cosby Show” mastermind Tom Werner , and James’
longtime friend and business partner Maverick Carter.
It will focus on two characters who make it big after growing up poor in North Philadelphia, and how they adjust to living lives far outside the norms of their home community.
James tells the Associated Press , “I think the main thing for me is, first of all, making it out of a place where you’re not supposed to. You’re supposed to be a statistic and end up like the rest of the people in the inner city — [and] being one of the few to make it out and everyone looking at you to be the savior.”
The Miami Heat star grew up in tough circumstances in Akron, Ohio before becoming world-famous as a basketball phenom.
He explains, “When you make it out, everyone expects for — they automatically think that they made it out and it’s very tough for a young, African-American 18-year-old kid to now hold the responsibility of a whole city, of a whole community. I can relate to that as well.”

Khloe Kardashian looked happy at Katy
Perry ’s house on Monday, celebrating Labor Day without her trouble-plagued husband Lamar Odom — but with her wedding ring.
The reality TV star was all smiles at Perry’s Los Angeles residence following a difficult week that included Odom’s arrest for DUI amid widespread rumors of alleged drug abuse and marital woes.

Jennifer Lopez covers the October 2013 issue of Cosmopolitan . The issue will arrive on newsstands on September 10th. In the interview, Jlo talks about her controversial decision to perform at the birthday party for the Turkmenistan president. She also talks about her boyfriend Casper Smart and not feeling secure until later in life.
On Performing for the Turkmenistan President : “I know that being seen as a role model means taking responsibility for all my actions. I am human, and of course, sometimes I make mistakes. But I promise that when I fall, I get back up. When I am wrong, I will learn the lesson and move on to face other challenges. For me, that’s what creating your own life is. Doing your best work while being your best self.”
On When She Started Feeling Secure About Herself : “It was after I had kids to be honest…The biggest insecurity I had was my singing. Even though I had sold 70 million records, there was this feeling like, I’m not good at this. And while I was married to Marc, he helped me get over it. He kept telling me, ‘You’re the only one holding yourself back from reaching your full potential as a singer. You have to let go’…I was always so insecure and just kind of going along. Then I grew, little by little, and realized, wait a minute, this is not a
fluke. I’m not a mistake – I work my ass off. And I know what I’m doing.”
On Her Boyfriend, Casper Smart, 26 : “For me, it’s about having a great partner to walk this life with. I have
my own high standards for what I want in a partner and how I want to be treated. I bring a lot to the table.
I’m not talking about material things but what I have to offer as a person – love and loyalty and all the things that make a good relationship.”
