Beyonce helped Michelle Obama celebrate her 50th birthday at the White House over the weekend — and brought along adorable daughter Blue Ivy for the festivities.
The singer shared private photos from their Washington, D.C. visit on Tumblr.
Among other moments, we see Blue Ivy getting familiar with the White House Christmas tree and the Obama family’s dog.
Beyonce is also spotted getting ready for her performance, for which she donned a striking gold mini-dress.
Kanye West opens up to Steve McQueen in the February issue of Interview magazine about Kim Kardashian , coping with the backlash of interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and creating art.
The 12 Years a Slave director asks the rapper how he dealt “mentally, physically and spiritually” with the “negativity” of the Swift incident, to which West replies, “God, sex, and alcohol.”
West shares, “Just enough religion, a half-cup of alcohol with some ice in it and a nice chaser, and then… a lot of sex. And then I’d make it to the next week.”The star goes on to talk about his much-criticized “Bound 2″ music video with Kardashian, telling McQueen, “It’s a dream, and I think the controversy comes from the fact that I don’t think most people are comfortable with their own dreams, so it’s hard for them to be comfortable with other people’s dreams.”
Asked about the new kind of love that comes with being a father to baby North, West offers, “It’s all brand new, how it feels to be a father. There are some things that I understand, certain things that I don’t understand, certain things that I like to get off my chest in interviews, certain things that I want to talk about. But when we talk about love, I don’t have an answer. All I can say is that I’m happy I have it.”
Questioned by McQueen about his creative side, the performer says,
“I’m a trained fine artist. I went to art school from the time I was 5 years old. I was, like, a prodigy out of Chicago.”
West continues, “I got three scholarships to art schools—to St. Xavier, to the American Academy of Art, and to the Art Institute of Chicago—and I went to the American Academy of Art.”
“So the joke that I’ve actually played on everyone is that the entire time, I’ve actually just been a fine artist. I just make sonic paintings,” adds the rapper.
Justin Bieber appears to moon Lil Za in a new picture that shows the recently arrested rapper asleep with someone’s bare butt perched inches from his face.
As I previously reported, The Biebs and his pals are enjoying a snowboarding trip in the aftermath of last week’s police raid on the singer’s house .
On Sunday, Bieber posted an Instagram shot of Za getting some rest, with the caption, “@LilZa u a** leep????” ( see right and below ).
Sure enough, a naked “a**” is on display, not far from the blissfully unaware performer.
Is it Bieber’s butt?
Is it a stand-in?
The case has not been cracked.
Brad Pitt is arguably looking sexier than ever these days thanks to a sexy new hipster haircut — shaved on the sides, and sleek up top — but Angelina Jolie’s fiance didn’t lop off his previously shoulder-length hair for personal vanity. “It’s for a part,” Pitt, 49, told E! News at the Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills, where the new ‘do looked pretty much perfect with his tuxedo. “It’s not a choice!” Indeed, the military-inspired look is for his WWII role opposite Shia LaBeouf and others in Fury, which has been shooting in the UK.
Sunday’s PGAs was the second awards show in a row for Pitt, who was also on hand at Saturday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards in support of his film 12 Years a Slave, which he helped produced and in which he has a smaller acting role. The intense historical epic went on to split the Best Picture PGA prize with Gravity.
As he’s previously revealed, Pitt told Us Weekly on the red carpet that he’d let his six children with Jolie, 38, watch the film, about Solomon Northup, a born-free black man who was sold into slavery in the 1840s. “Yes, it’s a heavy subject matter but there’s a universal story of a man just trying to keep his will, maintain his dignity and bring it home to his family,” Pitt told Us. “To me that’s beautifully inspirational amidst the historical aspect of it all. It’s beautifully told.”
For the first time in 12 years, the former ‘N Sync boy bander is set to release a new song.
And only we have the exclusive first listen to the single, “Walking On Air,” which drops tomorrow on iTunes. The tune is a collaboration between Bass, Anise K , Bella Blue and—get ready for it!— Snoop Dog .
“For the last two years I’ve been listening to demos, just trying to figure out if I want to get back in the studio,” Bass tells me. “I hadn’t heard anything that resonated with me. But a couple of months ago, a track from Anise K landed in my lap from a friend of mine and he was like, ‘I think this will be your first song.’
Describing the song as a “fun dance track,” Bass said, “These days songs have to be played in clubs and this is one of those songs that you’ll definitely hear in the club. I’m sure it will be remixed so many different times.” Bass admits he’d love to get back to performing on stage. “But I have zero plans,” he said. “I’m going to release it and if people love it, hopefully it will climb the charts…I’m just going to play it by ear.” (Earlier versions were released last year in Australia as well as in Belgium with Belgian pop star Ian Thomas .)
Meanwhile, Bass was in Park City, Utah last week for Slamdance, where he premiered Kidnapped For Christ , a documentary he executive produced about an American-run school in the Dominican Republic that uses abusive behavior modification methods to try to change gay teens straight. “They’re trying to reform them— pray the gay away,” said Bass, who is engaged to artist Michael Turchin . “It’s total torture. The first time I saw the rough edit my jaw was on the floor.”
