Let’s start this by saying everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and it’s no surprise that Iggy Azalea has a few she’d like to share.
The “Fancy” rapper got jeweled-up and struck a fierce pose for Billboard magazine ‘s latest issue, and during her interview with the mag, she seemed to throw a little shade at fellow musician Lorde and even—wait for it— The Beatles ! So what did she say?! Well, let’s start off with the whole Lorde debacle. The 17-year-old collaborated with the surviving members of Nirvana at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction Ceremony on April 10 in Brooklyn, and Iggy didn’t feel like that was “appropriate.”
Don’t call Lana Del Rey a feminist.
In a new interview with Fader, the “West Coast” singer admits she doesn’t really care for talking politics when it comes to women’s rights.
“For me, the issue of feminism is just not an interesting concept,” she says. “I’m more interested in, you know, SpaceX and Tesla, what’s going to happen with our intergalactic possibilities. Whenever people bring up feminism, I’m like, god. I’m just not really that interested.”
However, Del Rey adds, “My idea of a true feminist is a woman who feels free enough to do whatever she wants.”
Another Hollywood couple has head to splitsville .
Rita Ora and Calvin Harris’ romance became the topic of conversation after they were each seen spending time with other people—the Brit singer was spotted hanging out with Justin Bieber and Harris was photographed partying with a mystery brunette —but the EDM DJ has set the record straight on the status of their relationship.
“To address speculation – myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best,” Harris tweeted today.
Drake Bell wants to know why people are defending his enemy Justin Bieber after the release of old footage showing the pop star saying racist things .
The former Nickelodeon star has repeatedly slammed The Biebs and his fans , and on Thursday he took to Twitter to ask about a double standard he sees with Bieber and another notorious public figure.
“Donald Sterling caught saying racist thing and ruins career. @justinbieber gets caught and the excuse ‘He doesn’t know any better’ is used,” wrote Bell.
Sterling, of course, is the disgraced soon-to-be former owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, whose racist ramblings to girlfriend V. Stiviano led to a huge scandal and the end of his involvement in the NBA.
Does Bell have a point with his tweet about Sterling and Bieber?
Rihanna appeared at the Hard Rock Cafe in Paris to unveil her new charity t-shirt which she created with the restaurant and casino chain. A share of the sale of the t-shirts will go to The Clara Lionel Foundation which Rihanna founded in 2012 in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Brathwaite.
Hugh Jackman is hosting the Tony Awards on Sunday, and he released a mysterious promo on Thursday in anticipation of the big event.
In the clip, Jackman keeps bouncing — as he shaves, as he showers, and as he visits ESPN.
The video asks, “Why is Hugh bouncing?” and promises the answer will be revealed at the Tonys.
Austin Mahone is getting annoyed with the constant Justin Bieber comparisons.
Although both singers got their start as YouTube sensations, Mahone wants people to listen to his music before automatically linking him to the pop star.
“I can kind of see where they’re coming from, but at the same time, it’s kind of obnoxious,” he told the Associated Press on Thursday.
“They see a young kid who sings and dances and… they’re like, ‘Oh another Justin Bieber.’”
He added, “You don’t know me. You don’t know my music. You’re just making assumptions.”
Bieber came under fire this week after two videos emerged from several years ago, showing him tell a racist joke, as well as gleefully singing the N-word .
While Bieber continues to makes apology after apology , Mahone is focusing on growing as an entertainer.
“I may not be the best dancer or the best performer right now, but I’m always getting better,” said Mahone. “Next year I’ll be even better than I am now. And the year after that, I’ll just keep getting better.”
Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart have reportedly split after two and a half years together.
According to multiple sources, the couple has gradually and amicably parted ways over the past couple of months.
Sources say Lopez and Smart have stayed friends (they attended the Billboard Music Awards together three weeks ago — above), but that their personal and professional interests made the relationships too difficult to maintain.
Allegations of Smart’s supposed fling with a transsexual model did not precipitate the breakup, we’re told.
He and Lopez began dating in late 2011, shortly after she and ex-husband Marc Anthony announced their divorce.
Neither Smart nor Lopez has commented publicly on the split yet.
Iggy Azalea knows how to celebrate.
The rapper and her boyfriend, Nick Young of the Los Angeles Lakers, are both marking birthdays this week, and the stars are seen relaxing with each other on a boat in photos Azalea shared on Instagram ( see above).
She wears a bikini in the shots.
Azalea has plenty of reasons to party these days, recently becoming the first artist to hold the top two spots on the Billboard 100 chart since The Beatles five decades ago.
