One Direction Performing at the American Music Awards

Get ready for a Miley Cyrus mashup with One Direction.
OK, maybe not, but I can exclusively tell you that 1D has signed on to perform at the upcoming American Music Awards. The performance will mark Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik , Liam Payne , and Louis Tomlinson’s debut on the AMAs.
Also performing for the first time will be rising country duo Florida Georgia Line.
Will.i.am and Kelly Clarkson unveiled the five key nomination categories live on Oct. 10 on Good Morning America . Afterwards, they headed over to a press conference at B.B. King’s Blues Club in Times Square to reveal the rest of the nominees.
At the same time, the Black Eyed Peas frontman confirmed that Miley Cyrus will also perform during the show.
Leading the pack with six nominations is Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who garnered nods for Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “Thrift Shop” among others.
Trailing just behind were Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake with five noms a piece. The country songbird earned a nomination for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Album for Red while the former ‘N Sync er nabbed Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B and Favorite Soul/R&B Album for The 20/20 Experience.
The AMAs will air live on ABC from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on Nov. 24 at 8 p.m.

There is no guilt in this pleasure: The University of Warwick Rowing Club has stripped down for the fifth year in a row for a nude calendar, with proceeds helping to fight homophobia.
The University of Warwick Boat Club was founded in 1966 and is “on the verge of top tier status in British rowing.” The Warwick Rowing Calendar was founded in 2009 and features top tier nudes of British rowers.
And the 2014 edition is “bigger, better and even more daring than before!” Translation: More naked butt! The best part is that all this nudity is for a good cause: Part of the proceeds go to Sports Allies, a program created by Warwick Rowing and Educational Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH), that’s “dedicated to challenging homophobia among young people.”

Katharine McPhee Kisses Michael Morris, Smash Director Kicked Out by Wife Mary McCormack: Report

Mary McCormack apparently didn’t appreciate what she saw “in plain sight.” Married to Smash director Michael Morris for ten years, the actress, 45, allegedly threw Morris out of their Los Angeles home late Sunday – shortly before photos emerged of Morris making out with his former series star Katharine McPhee in a parking lot, Page Six reports.
The In Plain Sight star shares three young kids with Morris, and reportedly ejected him from their house after Morris informed her that the incriminating photos were set to go online. Page Six also claims that Morris attempted to buy the makeout snapshots himself to avoid the scandal.
McPhee herself is also taken: The 29-year-old American Idol runner-up wed producer Nick Cokas, 47, back in 2008. The paper claims that she and Cokas have been amicably separated.
Reps for all parties involved did not return requests for comment. NBC’s Smash was canceled last spring after two lowly rated seasons. McCormack’s latest series, NBC’s Welcome to the Family, was canceled earlier this month after just three weeks on the air.

Simon Cowell Sings Power Rangers Theme Song for $1 Million

Simon Cowell may be a music producer, but he actually hates to sing himself.
On Tuesday, however, the price was right.
At a Beverly Hills fundraiser Friends of the Israel Defense Forces , “Power Rangers” Haim Saban vowed to donate $1 million if Cowell sang the theme song to the hit children’s show.
The hilarity paid off — in more ways than one.
Along with Saban’s donation, he volunteered Cowell to pony up $250,000 of his own money following the public humiliation. Priceless.
